Directed staff to identify parcels that <br /> may meet community needs. <br /> Councilmember Iglesias, inquired about the RFP process. <br /> Councilmember Sarmiento, inquired from City Attorney Carvalho if item can be <br /> approved subject to expressed language to incorporate community benefit. <br /> City Attorney Carvalho, informed City Council parcels are exempt from Surplus <br /> Land Act. <br /> Councilmember Solorio, requested as part of the RFP, to include hearings, <br /> community support for open space and housing, but mindful of current land use <br /> and general plan designations. <br /> Councilmember Sarmiento, moved item subject to council input to be <br /> incorporated; seconded by Councilmember Solorio. <br /> Mayor Pulido, suggested to the maker of the motion that perhaps staff to <br /> communicate with community in identifying parcel of interest in which City can <br /> possibly purchase with the intent to meet community needs. <br /> FRIENDLY AMENDED MOTION: Authorize the Executive Director of the <br /> Public Works Agency to proceed with the release of a Request for <br /> Proposals (RFP) for the sale of City-owned properties purchased with <br /> grant funding and with restricted use of proceeds, and allow for direct <br /> negotiation for sale of exempt real property, consistent with Santa Ana <br /> Municipal Code (SAMC) Article V, Sections 2-706 and 2-709.
