Certified Local Government Program -- 2017-2018 Annual Report <br />(Reporting period is from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018) <br /> <br /> <br />11 <br />Item or Event Description Date <br />Historic Designation Markers– Public <br />outreach/Publication <br /> <br />Staff provided the Commission with a copy of the Historic <br />Designation Marker Guidelines handout. This handout was <br />intended to assist owners wishing to install a historic marker on <br />their property. Handout was made available on the City’s website <br />and as part of future educational outreach material to all historic <br />property owners. <br />March 22, 2018 <br />Solar Panel Installation – Public <br />outreach/Publication <br /> <br />Staff prepared handout which provides design guidelines for the <br />installation of solar panels on historic properties. The handout <br />was made available on the City’s website and as part of future <br />educational outreach material to all historic property owners. Staff <br />will be providing the Commission with a copy of the guidelines on <br />the January 24, 2019 Historic Resource Commission meeting. <br />October 4, 2018 – <br />January 24, 2019 <br />Historic Awards Program – Public <br />Outreach/Publication <br />Staff reinstated the Historic Preservation Awards program.The <br />program began with a press release on May 31, 2018, soliciting <br />nominations for projects that have been completed in the last five <br />years. Categories included: 1) Restoration; 2) Rehabilitation; 3) <br />Merit; 4) Historic Beautification; and 5) Historic Infill Design. In <br />addition, staff coordinated with neighborhood associations and <br />historic preservation groups. The nomination commenced on May <br />31, 2018 and concluded on July 26, 2018. Staff introduced the <br />program to the Commission and recommended the nomination of <br />two commissioners to participate in the 2018 Historic Preservation <br />Awards Ad Hoc Committee. On August 22, 2018, the Ad Hoc <br />Committee met to discuss four nominations received. After <br />deliberating, the Ad Hoc Committee recommended four winners. <br />The Commission will meet on January 24, 2019 to approve the <br />recommended winners. <br />May 31, 2018 – <br />January 24, 2019 <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR NATIONAL PARK SERVICE ANNUAL PRODUCTS REPORTS FOR CLGS <br /> <br /> NOTE: OHP will forward this information to NPS on your behalf.
