Orozco, Norma
From:
Karen <
Sent:
Friday, April 12, 2019 12:18 PM
To:
eComment
Subject:
Homeless Shelter
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to voice my strong concern regarding the proposed 600 bed homeless shelter on Yale St.
As a 20+ year resident of Fountain Valley, I am strongly opposed to this shelter. I was given NO
official notification of this shelter by the city of Santa Ana. I heard about it through many other
concerned neighbors. When a big homeless population made their home on the river bed, my
neighborhood went from almost zero crime, to criminal incidents very frequently. When they were
evacuated, I saw a big decline again in crime in my neighborhood. There are many schools and quiet
neighborhoods in close proximity to Yale Street. Since we were given no notification to even protest
this, it has been done the wrong way. Please consider putting this homeless shelter away from the
many schools and neighborhoods this will so negatively impact.
Concerned citizen
Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy simmphone
