Quarterly Report for Housing Choice Voucher Program <br />May 7, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />Chart 2 illustrates the number of applicants by <br />total household size. The majority of applicants 900 <br />on the Waiting List consist of only one or two 800 <br />household members. 700 <br />600 <br />Over half of all applicants (1,545 of the 2,905 500 <br />applicants or 54%) have one or two member 400 <br />300 <br />households and would qualify for a one -bedroom 200 <br />voucher. The Santa Ana Housing Authority's loo <br />occupancy ;policy is one bedroom for every two 0 <br />family members. <br />Participants <br />At the end of the reporting period, there were 2,628 <br />households receiving rental assistance from the <br />Housing Authority. <br />Chart 3 illustrates participating families, sorted by <br />number of family members. Over three-fourths <br />(81%) of families receiving assistance have three <br />or fewer members. <br />Chart 4 illustrates the family type for program <br />participants. Over half (65%) of participating <br />households have elderly and/or disabled <br />members.
