Orozco, Norma
From: Barraza, Eric
Sent: Monday, May 06, 2019 8:20 AM
To: eComment
Subject: FW: Wursthaus Patio
Attachments: Wursthaus Patio.jpg; Patio Agreement .pdf
Categories: Correspondence
From: Ryan Chase <
Sent: Sunday, May 5, 2019 8:33 PM
To: City Council <CityCouncil@santa-ana.org>
Subject: Fwd: Wursthaus Patio
Please forward to City Council re item on Tuesdays agenda.
Thanks
Ryan
Hi
Hope your doing well.
Just wanted to give you a heads up that you there is a business item coming up at your May 7th Council meeting
about allowing a temporary outdoor patio license agreement at Wursthaus restaurant located at 305 E 4th St
#106 - see attached picture for reference. As an FYI we have worked with various city departments over the
past year to approve a temporary patio outside Wursthaus in Downtown Santa Ana on a small portion of Plaza
Calle Cuatro for a 6 month pilot program. We have worked out all the specifics/details and have attached the
agreement for reference but the bottom line is that the patio furniture will be removed daily, area will be cleaned
and insured and the City still has first right to not allow if there is an event. As an FYI all departments will
monitor, review, evaluate and optimize and asswning everything goes would consider expanding the pilot, and
if so Wursthaus would add a new door directly onto the patio.
Beyond helping a small local Latino owned business believe the patio would help activate the entry into
Downtown as well as make it safer with more people/presence on the street (as the corner has recently had an
influx of homeless activity as well as can get a little quiet at night).
Any questions let me know
Thank you.
Ryan Chase
