Appoint Board Members For a Four Year Term Expiring May 31, 2023 <br />May 21, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />• Representatives from local businesses 13 members <br />• Representative from labor, labor registered 5 members <br />apprenticeship, and/or community based organization <br />• Representatives from local education institutions 3 members <br />• Representative from government entities 4 members <br />(Dept. of Rehabilitation, Social Services Agency, <br />EDD, and Economic Development) <br />Presently, there are four members whose terms expire May 2019 and are being recommended <br />for reappointment for a full four-year term. Mr. Ignacio Alegre represents the Department of <br />Rehabilitation, Mr. Bob Tucker represents labor, and Mr. Dennis Varnum represents the <br />Employment Development Department. Workforce Development Board member Debra Bates, <br />representing the County of Orange Social Services Agency, has resigned. Social Services <br />Agency is nominating Ms. Christine Snapper to represent on the WDB. All reappointing members <br />are active and committed to the goals of the City of Santa Ana and of the Workforce <br />Development Board. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval assists the City in meeting Goal #5 (Community Health, Livability, Engagement and <br />Sustainability). Objective #1 (Establish a comprehensive community engagement initiative to <br />expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an active role in <br />discussion public policy and setting priorities). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. <br />Executive Director <br />Community Development Agency <br />Exhibits: 1.
