RESOLUTION NO. 2019-032 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2017-076 <br />AND AFFIRMING CURRENT COUNCIL COMMITTEES <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as <br />follows: <br />A. By Resolutions approved in the past, the City Council had created as many <br />as eight (8) Council Committees for the purpose of focusing greater Council <br />attention on key priorities coming before the Council in the future. <br />B. In 2017, the City Council reorganized the Council Committees by replacing <br />the previous six (6) with four (4) Council Committees, in order to improve <br />efficiency and productivity of the committee process. <br />C. The current City Council Committees are: <br />1. Community Services Committee (and Joint Santa Ana Unified School <br />District and City Council Committee); <br />2. Economic Development, Infrastructure, Budget and Technology <br />Committee; <br />3. Legislative Affairs, Ethics, Transparency and Communications Committee; <br />and <br />4. Public Safety, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Empowerment <br />Committee. <br />D. The City Council desires to continue the same four (4) City Council <br />Committees specified in subsection C. <br />SECTION 2. From and after the date hereof, each Committee shall consist of <br />two (2) or three (3) Councilmembers. The members on the Committees shall be <br />appointed by a majority of the entire City Council at a public meeting. Committee <br />members do not receive additional stipends or compensation for serving on these <br />Committees. Each Committee member shall serve on the Committee for a two-year <br />term commencing with the first meeting of each new City Council following a general <br />election, but each Councilmember shall continue to serve on his or her Committee until <br />replaced. <br />Resolution No. 2019-032 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
