ORA <br />)AI N7 <br />Orange County's Point in Time (PIT) count occured on January 28th, 2017. The PIT count is a biennial tally of people without a <br />home on a particular night. We count because we want to understand homelessness in our community in order to end it. The ad hoc <br />cmmittee's direction included a public places count <br />committee's <br />sampling methodology. This methodology was <br />also used for the 2013 and 2015 PIT counts. During <br />the 2017 PIT count, 86 additional maps were counted <br />and surveyed for a total of 270 maps in comparison <br />7 to 184 maps in the 2015 PIT count. Reductions in <br />transitional shelter beds is reflective of national <br />00HUD funding priorities.
