Monthly CIP Executive Report for May 2019 <br />June 4, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />Upcoming Parks Projects <br />Bid openings were held on May 20 and 22 for two park improvement projects. The "Center Street <br />Urban Greening" project involves removal of 500 feet of abandoned street for conversion to <br />landscaped open space, providing a connection between the existing ballfield diamonds at <br />Jerome Park. The second project involves upgrading existing park lighting at Angels, Cabrillo, <br />Cesar Chavez, Portola, Riverview and Rosita Parks. Both projects are slated for completion by <br />December 2019. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 — Community Health, Livability, Engagement <br />& Sustainability, Objective #1 (establish a comprehensive community engagement initiative to <br />expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an active role in <br />discussing public policy and setting priorities). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. <br />U� G t, k Tcs-yl <br />Fuad S.
