Mayor Pro Tern Villegas, directed staff to provide Harbor and Hazard update at <br />the May 21, 2019 City Council meeting with proposed plan to address <br />neighborhood issues with prostitution and crime. <br />Councilmember Solorio, suggested use of non -sworn personnel to perform <br />community oriented policing to address ongoing issue. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento, supportive of a comprehensive approach to address <br />ongoing crime and prostitution. <br />Councilmember Penaloza, supportive of publishing pictures of individuals who are <br />arrested for solicitation activities. <br />City Attorney Sonia Carvalho spoke. <br />Chief David Valentin spoike. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Villegas, supportive of publishing pictures of individuals who are <br />arrested for solicitation activities. <br />Councilmember Iglesias, expressed concern with response time and improved <br />quality of life to residents. <br />Councilmember Solorio, supportive of reporting all crimes on crime mapping <br />system. <br />Mayor Pulido, directed staff to create plan to fill police vacancies and identify new <br />positions to assist in addressing ongoing criminal activity. <br />RECESSED CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT 11:07 P.M.
