DISCUSS AND CONSIDER DIRECTING CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST <br />STAFF TO PROVIDE OPTIONS REGARDING THE CITY'S EFFORTS TO <br />ADDRESS HARBOR/HAZARD NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS — <br />Councilmember Penaloza and Councilmember Iglesias <br />Councilmember Penaloza, expressed concerned over ongoing prostitution and <br />criminal activity. <br />Councilmember Iglesias, directed staff to conduct monthly neighborhood <br />association meetings, conduct quarterly internal status meetings within the City, <br />and suggested more police presence and lighting in impacted neighborhood. <br />The following spoke on the matter: <br />• Laura Perez, express concern over ongoing prostitution in the neighborhood. <br />• Chris Schmidt, expressed concern over ongoing neighborhood issues and lack of City <br />efforts to address concerns. <br />Council discussion continued: <br />City Manager Ridge, recommended creating cross -departmental team with traffic <br />engineering, code enforcement, and police to address neighborhood concerns. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 27 MAY 7, 2019 <br />
