Orozco, Norma
From:
Lewis Wood <
Sent:
Tuesday, June 18, 2019 10:22 AM
To:
Barraza, Eric
Cc:
City Council; Kelaher, Selena; Jeanette Wood; eComment
Subject:
2525 Main Street development
Dear City Council
My wife and I support the development known as the Addington. We believe that Santa Ana needs to develop
and create destinations just like Anaheim, Fullerton and Irvine have done. Main Place was no accident and it is
the perfect location to have a destination that is a vibrant development.
There is this article in the NYT today. This article only makes sense to forward thinking people:
httns://www.nylimes. comlinteractivel20l 9/06l18/upshotleities-across-america-question-single-family-
zoning.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share
Over the years living in Santa Ana I have seen a City that lacks courage to compete with its neighboring cities
and to think out of the box. I have no expectations that this will change. A lack of courage, lack of vision and
frozen by fear is what Santa Ana's government looks like.
But there is some hope. No one else is doing mass transit. Santa Ana kept this dream alive when all the
neighboring cities said no.
It would be a miracle to see Santa Ana move out of the sphere of fearful conservatism and wake up
courageously to lead this County.
It would be wonderful to have a true walkable community in this area. It's a dream. I fear it will never happen.
Sincerely
Lewis and Jeanette Wood
Park Santiago Neighborhood
