However, concrete exposed to recycled water should be <br />designed using Type V cement. <br />4.2.7 Pavements <br />Pavement Subgrades: Pavement subgrades should be compacted as <br />recommended in Section 4.2 of this report. Adequate drainage (both <br />surface and subsurface) should be provided such that the subgrade soils <br />and aggregate base materials are not allowed to become wet. Landscape <br />areas must be separated from pavements with concrete curbs and/or <br />edge drains. Excessive over -irrigation will have an adverse impact on <br />adjacent pavements. Irrigation adjacent to pavements, without a deep <br />curb or other cutoff to separate landscaping from paving, will result in <br />premature pavement failure. <br />Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Pavement Sections: Assuming estimated traffic <br />indices for various pavement serviceability requirements and a design R- <br />value of 20, we developed the following recommended pavement sections <br />using the Caltrans Highway Design Manual, as listed in the following table: <br />17 <br />Leighton <br />
