We need to have resolution immediately regarding the homeless situation that is next to our place of business. There is fecal matter, trash that is attracting pets plus illicit activities such as drugs, damage to property and theft that is occurring daily. Our employees are being directly impacted by this. If they have to leave the building after hours — they have resorted to carrying knives in case they get jumped when leaving the facility. There has been theft of their locked bikes, opening of cars and lewd conduct when they park their cars. Our business is being impacted and we follow strict guidelines for pest control and inventory control for our customers and this has the potential of our largest customer leaving due tc the risk of contaminated shipments caused by an infestation. We ask that you vote yes on Item 85A which allows your City Manager to direct the police and other city departments to full enforcement of our anti -camping laws, drug laws, illegal dumping laws and other means already on the books designed to deal with these types of serious crimes. This needs to be an immediate priority with daily cleanup efforts until the issue is mitigated.
