ARTICLE IV <br />4.0 SALARIES <br />4.1 Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby established a basic compensation plan for all <br />members ofthe Association who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any <br />of the designated classifications of employment listed in this MOU. <br />4.2 SalarySchedule The basic salary schedule, as periodically updated and published by the <br />City is comprised of five (5) steps or rate ranges of pay for swom (Ca1PERS "Safety") <br />employees and five (5) steps or rate ranges of pay for non -sworn (CaIPERS "Miscellaneous") <br />employees. <br />Effective July 1, 2019, a Step "E" (approximately 5% increase from Step "D") will be added <br />to the sworn classifications in this unit. <br />The steps within each range are identified by the letters "A" through "B" inclusive for sworn <br />(Ca1PERS "Safety") classifications and "AA" through "D" inclusive for non -sworn <br />(Ca1PERS "Miscellaneous") classifications, with Step "A" being the lowest step for sworn <br />(Ca1PERS "Safety") and Step "AA" being the lowest step for non-swom (Ca1PERS <br />"Miscellaneous") classifications. <br />The assignment of classes to salary rate ranges during the tern of this MOU is listed in the <br />City's salary schedule, as periodically updated and published by the City. <br />4.3 Salaries. <br />A. The base salaries of employees covered by this MOU shall be adjusted as follows: <br />1. Effective July 1, 2019 classifications covered by this MOU shall receive a <br />salary increase of twenty (20) salary rate ranges (approximately 10%). <br />2. Effective July 1, 2020, employees covered by this MOU shall receive a <br />salary increase of eight (8) salary rate ranges (approximately 4%). <br />3. Effective July 1, 2020, the City agrees, after implementation of the 4% <br />salary increase effective July 1, 2020 to maintain ten (10) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 5%) between the classes of Top Step Sergeant <br />including all pay additives available to this classification and Police <br />Commander "D" Step including Supervisory Post Additive (minimum <br />5%) and Bilingual Pay Additive. <br />4. The City and Association agree that upon the expiration of this MOU and <br />55A-16 <br />
