ARTICLE I <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br />1.1 Pursuant to theprovisionsof the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, Government Code Section 3500, <br />et seq., the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter called the "City") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Management Association (hereinafter called the "Association") as the recognized <br />representative of the bargaining unit which includes full-time Police Department employees <br />in the sworn, "safety -member" classifications and assignments of Police Commander, and <br />Deputy Chief of Police, and full-time department employees in the non -sworn, <br />"miscellaneous -member" classifications and assignments of Police Communications <br />Manager, Police Administrative Budget Manager, Police Administrative Manager, Jail <br />Administrator, Correctional Manager, and Police Systems Manager. <br />(The former titles of Police Lieutenant and Police Captain may continue to be used by the <br />City for such purposes as salary surveys and compensation comparisons for the titles of <br />Police Commander and Deputy Chief of Police, respectively). <br />55A-13 <br />
