A structured After School Arts and Tutoring program <br />:o help divertyouth from negative social problems and engage in positive, fun, creative and artistic programs offered at <br />our agency, such as: Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Graphic Design, Digital Arts, Painting and many more! Student: <br />,vill be given the opportunity to take an Arts activity of their choice and any day of the week in the following disciplines: <br />a) Music, b) Art & Technology and c) Dance during after -school hours (M-F) and also on Saturdays! Our After- School <br />4rts program runs every day from 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm (M-F) and on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. In addition to <br />the After School Arts Program, the youth will be provided with the opportunity to receive daily tutoring in our Learning <br />Academy Program, and receive academic support with any subject they are struggling with academically, such as <br />math, science, reading, etc. at school. Tutors will be available Monday through Friday during the same after school <br />hours of operation to help our youth on any given day of the week. We also provide tutors at Willard Middle School for <br />students that cannot come to OCCTAC. <br />Parents - In addition to the programs offered to the youth, the parents will also be invited to participate in <br />a weekly series of Parenting Classes focused on crime prevention, discipline strategies, communication skills, <br />family conflict, behavioral problems, family violence and others. This parenting program is designed to help <br />parents learn to recognize both prosocial and antisocial behaviors, employ social learning techniques (e.g., <br />positive reinforcement, ignoring, distraction, punishment), preventing delinquency and family violence. <br />Families experiencing crisis will also be offered Counseling. Both youth and parents will get the needed <br />counseling. <br />Youth - Students identified by Willard administrators as victims of violence and/or engaged in crime <br />activity, will be placed in our Therapeutic Arts, Family Counseling and Crises Intervention Program. These <br />students will be given the opportunity to participate in our therapeutic programs which focus on youth with <br />severe behavioral and emotional problems. These programs have a therapeutic emphasis that the After <br />School Arts programs do not have. However, youth can engage in both (After School Arts programs and <br />Therapeutic programs). The emphasis of the Therapeutic Arts program is on Healing. <br />Parents - In addition to the programs offered to youth, the parents will be invited to participate in both <br />Parenting Classes and Family Counseling. Families experiencing Crises Intervention and <br />emotional/behavioral problems, will be provided with weekly Counseling and therapeutic programs for both <br />youth and their parents. Frequency of Service Delivery - The frequency of the service delivery will depend on the <br />specific component of the program and the nature of the problem. For families participating in our Crime prevention <br />program, the emphasis will be placed on enrolling them in our After School Arts, Tutoring and Parenting Classes.
