(Reg. 18942 (a)(18)(C).) <br />• Limitations On Relationship Exceptions: These relationship exceptions do not <br />apply if the individual providing the benefit to the official is one of the <br />following: <br />o A lobbyist registered to lobby the official's agency; <br />o A person who has, or may reasonably foreseeably have, a contract, <br />license, permit, or other entitlement for use pending before the official's <br />agency; <br />o Someone who received a contract, license, permit, or other entitlement <br />and the official made or participated in that decision within the last 12 <br />months; or <br />o A person (or the person's agent) who is involved in a licensing or <br />enforcement proceeding before a regulatory agency that employs the <br />official and in which the official may reasonably foreseeably participate <br />within 12 months after the time the gift is made. (Reg. 18942 <br />(a)(18)(D)(i-iii).) <br />Social Gatherings: <br />• Home Hospitality: Gifts of hospitality, including food and drink, are not <br />considered reportable gifts if they are received in an individual's home when <br />the individual is present, the individual is someone with whom the official has <br />a relationship, connection, or association unrelated to the official's position, <br />and the hospitality is provided as part of that relationship. (Regs. 18942 <br />(a)(7)(A), 18942.2.) This includes hospitality provided in vacation homes, <br />timeshares or on boats. <br />• Wedding Guests: Benefits received as a guest attending a wedding reception <br />or civil union where the benefits are substantially the same as those received <br />by the other guests attending the event are not considered gifts.
