EXHIBITA EXHIBIT 1 <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />BACKGROUND <br />For over 20 years, the City of Santa Ana's WORK Center has demonstrated its abilities in <br />designing, implementing, and managing a full array of workforce development programs to area <br />residents. In 1996, the City of Santa Ana further expanded its services by opening the Santa Ana <br />WORK Center and later partnering with various agencies, including the State Employment <br />Development Department, Orange County Social Services Agency, Department of Rehabilitation, <br />Rancho Santiago Community College District, Goodwill Industry, and community based <br />organizations to ensure a comprehensive and integrated service delivery in a One -Stop <br />environment. The services have benefited, youth, adults, dislocated workers, and families on -aid. <br />PLANNED APPROACH <br />The Santa Ana WORK Center will assume the responsibility to ensure the WIOA eligible <br />students enrolled at Santa Ana College will receive needed WIOA services. These services may <br />include one or more of the following services: <br />1. Basic Career Services: Basic Career Services will be offered to all students. These services <br />are by their nature self-service. These services require minimal staff assistance such as access <br />to job postings, referrals to other program, and provision of labor market information. Self- <br />service also includes staff establishing access to CalJOBS for an individual or looking up a <br />password. <br />2. Job Coaching: This activity will help prepare students for employment. Participants will be <br />offered one-on-one coaching to develop skills necessary to obtain employment. Job coaching <br />is designed to help job seekers gain confidence so they can successfully enter the workforce, <br />obtain and sustain employment. Job coaches will provide guidance and motivation in setting <br />and achieving job and career goals. Participants will also receive one-on-one guidance in <br />increasing job retention by promoting effective workplace habits, attitudes and choices. <br />3. Supportive Services: As part of the planned approach, supportive services will be identified <br />and the participant will receive assistance in those services. Supportive services include but <br />are not limited to, transportation assistance, clothing assistance, assistance with tool purchases, <br />or testing fees. Participants must be eligible for WIOA to receive supportive services. <br />4. Job Development/Job Creation: The Employment Services Team will interact with the <br />local business community. The goal is to ensure that sufficient employment opportunities are <br />created for WIOA eligible students who are co -enrolled in the WIOA program. <br />5.2(10) <br />20A-12 <br />
