ARTICLE V <br />5.0 SALARIES <br />5.1 Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby established a basic compensation <br />plan for all full-time and designated PTCS personnel who are now employed <br />or shall in the future be employed in any of the designated classifications of <br />employment represented by CASA as listed in this MOU and its attachments. <br />5.2 Salary Schedule. The basic salary schedule, periodically updated and <br />published by the City provides numerous salary rate ranges, each comprised <br />of six (6) steps or rates of pay. <br />The steps within each rate range are identified by the letters "AA" through <br />"E" inclusive, with Step "AA" being the lowest step in the range. The purpose <br />of each step and the length of service required foradvancement to the next <br />higher step within a particular salary rate range as set forth in the City's salary <br />schedule, as periodically updated and published by the City. <br />The assignment of classifications to salary rate ranges forfull time personnel is <br />listed in the City's salary schedule, as periodically updated and published by <br />the City. <br />5.3 Salaries. Effective in the pay period including July 1, 2019, July 1, 2020 and <br />July 1, 2021, classifications covered by this MOU shall receive a base salary <br />increase of 3.5%. The initial salary increase will be provided to those currently <br />employed as of the date the MOU is adopted by Council retroactively to the <br />pay period including July 1, 2019. <br />5.4 Application of Basic Compensation Plan. The salary rate ranges discussed in <br />Section 5.2 are monthly salary rate ranges. All full-time employees working in <br />classifications of employment covered by this MOU shall be compensated at <br />a monthly rate, except that an employee hired for temporary work in a <br />position which has an anticipated duration of less than six (6) months shall be <br />paid at a rate per hour for actual time spent in the performance of the duties <br />of his or her employment. The regular rate of pay shall be computed as <br />provided for by the FLSA. <br />Any hourly rate of pay, defined as the regular hourly rate of pay, shall be <br />computed by dividing the monthly salary rate plus any applicable premiums <br />by 173.33.
