Will support the employee's request. <br />a. If the Department Head supports the employee's request <br />for a classification review, he or she shall forward the <br />request to the Executive Director of Human Resources <br />along with justification for support of the employee's <br />request. <br />b. The Department Head shall notify the employee that his <br />or her request has been submitted to the Executive <br />Director of Human Resources. <br />2. Will not support the employee's request. <br />a. If the Department Head does not support the employee's <br />request for a classification review, he or she shall notify <br />the employee of this decision in writing and set forth the <br />basis for the decision. <br />b. If the Department Head does not support the employee's <br />request, but agrees that some of the duties and/or <br />responsibilities being performed by the employee are <br />those of a higher level City classification, he or she can <br />do the following: <br />Return the employee to performance of the duties <br />and/or responsibilities of their proper classification. <br />ii. Eliminate the higher duties and/or responsibilities <br />being performed by the employee, for which the <br />City has agreed are those forwhich it shall provide <br />higher compensation. <br />B. Any employee request for classification review approved by the <br />Department Head shall be forwarded to the Executive Director of <br />Personnel Services. The Executive Director of Human Resources shall <br />confirm receipt of the request in writing to the employee. Within sixty <br />(60) days of receipt of the request, the Executive Director of Human <br />Resources shall notify the employee and Department Head of the <br />decision as to whether a study will be conducted.
