Ordinance Amendment No. 2019-01 — Commercial Cannabis Ordinance Updates <br />August 20, 2019 <br />Page 7 <br />Table 2: Proposed Regulatory Amendments <br />Item <br />Amendment and Impact <br />Employee Badges (SAMC <br />Amendment: <br />Sections 18-613 and 40-8) <br />Amends Chapters 18 and 40 addressing production of required employee <br />badges. <br />Impacts: <br />• Removes site -specific badge requirement for each employee. <br />• Allows an employee that has an approved badge to work at multiple <br />commercial cannabis businesses without the need for multiple badges. <br />• Streamlines commercial cannabis business requests for new <br />employees, volunteers, managers, and owners. <br />Volatile and Non -Volatile <br />Amendment: <br />Manufacturing <br />Requirements (SAMC <br />Amends Chapter 40 to allow both non-volatile and volatile manufacturing <br />Section 40-8) <br />in the Light and Heavy Industrial zoning districts (M-1 and M-2) without a <br />conditional use permit (CUP) requirements, subject to Building Code and <br />Fire Code requirements. <br />Impacts: <br />• Addresses recent changes to State non-volatile (Type 6) and volatile <br />(Type 7) manufacturing categories. <br />• Allows a broader range of cannabis manufacturing activity types in both <br />of the City's industrial zoning districts. <br />• Streamlines the review process for Type 7 license applicants by <br />eliminating the CUP requirement. <br />• Maintains requirement that facilities be constructed subject to all life <br />safety Building and Fire code requirements. <br />75A-7 <br />
