Cultural Resources (Cont.) <br /> <br />Item (d) <br />If future activities in project site adversely impact <br />previously unidentified cultural resources, including <br />burial sites or sacred lands, an archaeologist will be <br />afforded the opportunity to evaluate any additional <br />finds and to complete an analysis in accordance with <br />CEQA guidelines, as amended. <br /> <br /> <br />MM CR-3: Any future development that occurs as a result of <br />the proposed project will be subject to the provisions of Section <br />7050.5 of the California Health and Safety Code. Section 7050.5 <br />requires the contractor to notify the County Coroner if suspected <br />human remains are uncovered. The Coroner will then determine <br />whether the remains are of forensic interest. If the Coroner, with <br />the aid of a supervising archaeologist, determines that the remains <br />are or appear to be of a Native American individual, he/she <br />would contact the Native American Heritage Commission for <br />further investigations and proper recovery of such remains, if <br />necessary. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Implementing Entity: Project <br />applicant/developer, County Coroner, <br />qualified archaeologist <br />Monitoring Agency: City of Santa Ana <br />Planning and Building Agency and the Native <br />American Heritage Commission <br />Timing: Grading/construction phase <br /> <br /> <br />3-19
