REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 <br />TITLE: <br />AUTHORIZE A BUDGET REALLOCATION <br />AND AWARD A CONSTRUCTION <br />CONTRACT TO ARAMEXX <br />CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$2,856,418, FOR THE CIVIC CENTER <br />BIKE BOULEVARD AND SAFE ROUTES <br />TO SCHOOL ENHANCEMENTS FOR <br />SEPULVEDA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />PROJECT ESTIMATED PROJECT COST: <br />$3,383,000 <br />(PROJECT NOS. 17-6801 & 17-6886) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NOS. 6, 1C & 1G) <br />CITYQANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1� Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing <br />For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the reallocation of $65,000 in unspent Fiscal Year 2018-19 Measure M2 Local <br />Fairshare Funds from Local Preventative Maintenance FY 17/18 Project (Project #18-6907) to <br />the Safe Routes to School Enhancements for Sepulveda Elementary School Project (Project <br />#17-6886). <br />2. Award a contract to Aramexx Construction, the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with <br />the base bid in the amount of $2,856,418, for construction of the Civic Center Bike Boulevard <br />and Safe Routes to School Enhancements for Sepulveda Elementary School Project, for the <br />term beginning upon execution of the contract and ending upon project completion, and <br />authorize the City Manager to execute the contract subject to nonsubstantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney. <br />3. Approve the Project Cost Analysis for a total estimated construction delivery cost of <br />$3,383,000, which includes $2,856,418 for the construction contract; $226,422 for contract <br />administration, inspection and testing; and a $300,160 project contingency (approximately <br />10% of the construction contract amount), funded by Active Transportation Program Cycle 2 <br />Funds. <br />23A-1 <br />
