Joint Labor Management Team with the City to review bilingual pay <br />provisions and assignments (see also Article XX1, Section 21.3). <br />6.4 Shift Differential. <br />A. Generally. An employee in a classification represented by CASA who <br />is continuously and regularly assigned to a schedule of work which <br />requires that he or she actually work a minimum of four and one-half <br />(4'/2) hours between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., shall be paid <br />a shift differential for his or her entire work shift at a rate set 5% higher <br />than his or her then -current base monthly salary step. <br />B. Standby Pay. Employees who are released from active duty but who <br />are required by their department to leave notice where they can be <br />reached and be available to return to active duty when required by <br />the department at any time other than their regularly scheduled <br />working hours, shall be said to be on standby duty. Effective no later <br />than the first (1 st) day of the second (2nd) payroll period following City <br />Council approval of this MOU, such employees shall receive two <br />hundred dollars ($200) per week when assigned to be on standby <br />duty. <br />6.5 Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay. In order to provide an equitable <br />method of compensating employees who are assigned temporarily to a <br />vacant, full-time, budgeted, higher -level position the following shall apply: <br />A. General Guidelines <br />1. Temporary Upgrade Assignments shall be limited to the <br />temporary filling of vacant, full-time, budgeted positions due to <br />the termination, promotion or authorized long-term absence of <br />the incumbent. A temporarily vacant position need not be a <br />position without an incumbent. <br />2. Each such assignment may be terminated at any time, but in no <br />event shall such assignment continue beyond one hundred <br />eighty (180) days of such assignment. <br />3.
