fractional usage rounded upward to the next higher multiple of one (1). <br />C. Computing Regular Vacation. <br />1. In computing vacation, each municipal holiday that occurs during the vacation, and <br />that falls on a day which the employee would have worked had he or she not been on <br />vacation, shall be deducted from the computation so that one (1) additional day of <br />vacation shall be allowed to the employee. Should an employee be confined to a <br />hospital for sickness or injury while on authorized vacation, each full day of such <br />confinement, when confirmed by aphysician's statement and approval of the Police <br />Chief, may be deducted from the computation of vacation expended and charged <br />against the employee's accumulated sick leave. <br />2. No employee may carry over from one (1) calendar year to the next, more than the <br />maximum vacation carryover as set forth in the following table. Beginning December <br />31, 2019, and each December 3 1 " thereafter, any vacation not used beyond the <br />maximum carryover amount from the current calendar year will be cashed out at the <br />employee's base rate of pay by the City at the end of the current calendar year <br />provided that the employee takes a minimum of eighty (80) hours of accrued vacation <br />leave time off in that calendar year. <br />3. Any employee that does not take a minimum of eighty (80) hours of vacation leave <br />hours during the calendar year beyond the maximum carryover amount as described <br />in this section 10.2.C.2., the hours beyond the maximum carry over amount from year <br />to year will be forfeited, meaning that no pay shall be received for such unused <br />vacation at any time.
