RESOLUTION NO. 2019-083 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE APPLICATION FOR STATEWIDE PARK <br />DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION <br />PROGRAM GRANT FUNDS FOR THE RAITT AND MYRTLE <br />NEW PARK <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated <br />the responsibility by the Legislature of the State of California for the administration of the <br />Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant Program, setting up <br />necessary procedures governing the application; and <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the Applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the application <br />before submission of said application to the State; and <br />WHEREAS, successful Applicants will enter into a contract with the State of <br />California to complete the Grant Scope project; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the filing of an <br />application for $1,640,928 for the Raitt and Myrtle New Park project through <br />the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program <br />('Project'). The proposed Project would develop the existing vacant, unused <br />parcel of land into a new park, which would include a skate area, exercise area, <br />tot lot and butterfly interpretive garden, walking loop, open space, and <br />restroom. The Project would also include drought tolerant landscaping, river - <br />rock bioswale, and a picnic area. <br />B. The Santa Ana City Council certifies that if the project is awarded, the City has <br />or will have available prior to the commencement of any work on the Project <br />included in this application, the sufficient funds to complete the project; and <br />C. The Santa Ana City Council certifies that the City has reviewed, understands, <br />and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the contract shown in the <br />Grant Administration Guide; and <br />D. The Santa Ana City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager or the <br />Executive Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, <br />Resolution No. 2019-083 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
