Mitre -Ramirez, Norma
From: Ugochi Nicholson <
Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2019 1:55 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Item 75C: Skatepark on Raitt & Myrtle - Support
Dear Mayor Pulido and Members of the Santa Ana City Council:
I am writing in support of Item 75C: Skatepark on Raitt & Myrtle. I work in the City of Santa Ana, and I see many of the
youth riding their skateboards to and from school, or around the neighborhood. It would be nice if the City of Santa Ana
could provide them with a dedicated space that allows the youth to play and use their skateboards in a safe
environment. Accordingly, I support the construction of a skate park/skateplaza in the future park on the Raitt & Myrtle
lot. It is crucial for the city to create more safe spaces for youth to remain active and healthy. Supporting this item will
promote several of the strategic goals stated in the General Plan for the City of Santa Ana: Community Safety (Strategic
Goal No. 1); Youth, Education, Recreation (Strategic Goal No. 2); and Community Health, Livability, Engagement &
Sustainability (Strategic Goal No. 5). 1 ask that you increase investment in positive youth programs and spaces within
Santa Ana. Thank you for your support in caring for the next generation of leaders of the City of Santa Ana.
Sincerely,
Ugochi
Ugochi L.
