WHEREAS, recognized as a center for commercial, financial, and manufacturing <br />businesses that produce numerous electronic parts, sporting goods, and aerospace <br />equipment, Santa Ana has become a major hub for much of the economic activity in <br />Southern California; and <br />WHEREAS, Santa Ana offers numerous attractions, including the Artists Village, <br />California State University - Fullerton, Grand Central Art Center, the Santa Ana Zoo, the <br />Discovery Science Center, as well as a complex of artist residences, classrooms, and <br />studios; and <br />WHEREAS, today Santa Ana also has some of the finest artwork in the country, <br />including galleries located at the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art, the Discovery <br />Museum of Orange County, and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art; and <br />WHEREAS, Santa Ana is home to the state and federal buildings and courts; and <br />WHEREAS, the OC Streetcar, a first for Orange County, will soon find its home <br />here in Santa Ana; and <br />WHEREAS, Santa Ana is a wonderful City of vitality and diversity with a bright <br />future for its residents and businesses and is deserving of a day to celebrate its 150 <br />years; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares October <br />27, 2019 as the official City of Santa Ana Day and encourages all businesses, <br />organizations and public institutions to recognize the significance of this day and to <br />celebrate on this day with the City of Santa Ana. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption and the Clerk of <br />the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution. <br />ADOPTED this 15th day of October 2019. <br />el A.
