The applicant has acquired the rights to a full alcoholic <br />beverage license from ABC and is now requesting approval of a conditional use permit from the <br />City to allow the sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits for on premise consumption. In <br />conjunction with this request, the applicant is proposing to expand into an adjacent 600 square <br />foot tenant space (Unit D) and sell alcoholic beverages within this new floor area. A conditional <br />use permit is required since the ABC license is being upgraded to allow for the sale of distilled <br />spirits and alcohol will be sold in an expanded area, while Land Use Certificate No. 1988-15 only <br />allowed the sale of beer and wine for on premise consumption within the original restaurant floor <br />area. In 1988, <br />Mariscos Hector replaced the former restaurant within Unit E and began selling beer and wine for <br />on premise consumption as allowed by Land Use Certificate No. 1988-15.
