VI. OPPORTUNITY COST <br />Pasadena has limited opportunities for companies seeking office space. In the recent past, <br />Overture left Pasadena for Burbank because the company, which germinated in Pasadena before <br />being absorbed by Yahoo, couldn't find adequate space within the city to locate. Kaiser <br />Permanente has recently left the Parsons Annex at 74 Pasadena Avenue and expanded operations <br />in Burbank for exactly the same reason. Current losses would include E. Sola currently at Idea <br />Lab! While Pasadena still serves as the regional headquarters of the company, much of the <br />expansion is taking place in nearby cities as a result, in large part, of the inability to find <br />adequate space to expand in Pasadena. <br />25 <br />
