10/11/2019
Scott Davidson
1146 South Ross Street
Santa Ana, CA 92707
City of Santa Ana
Attn: City Clerk
PO Box 1988, M30
Santa Ana, CA 92707
7PT OCT 23 M 7: 58
CITY OF SANTA ANA
CLERK OF COUNCIL
RE: proposed changes to Santa Ana water and sewer rate structure
Dear Council Members,
I am deeply concerned about the proposed changes to the water and sewer rate structure that are
proposed in the handout distributed by mail. While I understand the need to address aging
infrastructure and increased maintenance costs, the propose increases are egregious. I utilized the
online rate estimator and determined that as a single -occupant household my rates the first year would
increase by over 20% with further increases beyond that! My Santa Ana utility bill is already my largest
utility bill and an increase of that magnitude would be crippling.
I urge you to reevaluate the proposed rate structure and find creative ways to address the city
infrastructure with a measured impact on its residents. In its current form I cannot abide by the
proposed changes, and hope that you will recognize that the already tight budgets of the residents of
Santa Ana can't afford an increase of this magnitude.
Regards,
 a
Scott Davidson
