There is no change to the <br />agreement amount. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On January 20, 2015, the City Council approved a cooperative agreement with the Cities of Garden <br />Grove, Fountain Valley, and Costa Mesa to implement the grant funded Harbor Blvd Traffic Signal <br />Synchronization Project valued at $1,852,000. The cooperative agreement identifies the City of <br />Santa Ana as the lead agency for implementing the project. The project provides traffic signal <br />improvements, new optimized timing, and two-year maintenance and monitoring of the traffic signal <br />synchronization along Harbor Boulevard. The two-year maintenance and monitoring followed the <br />traffic signal improvements, and timing implementation was completed in May 2018. Therefore, <br />maintenance and monitoring will end in April 2020. At the end of the two-year maintenance and <br />monitoring period, responsibility for ongoing signal timing maintenance will revert to the respective <br />local agencies. <br />On April 21, 2015, the City Council awarded a three-year agreement to Iteris, Inc., in amount not to <br />exceed $755,000 for the design and implementation of the project. Thereafter, the first amendment <br />dated January 19, 2016 increased the agreement by $89,100 for additional system procurement and <br />integration, and extended the term until December 31, 2019. <br />The requested second amendment (Exhibit 1) will extend the agreement an additional twelve months <br />to allow Iteris, Inc., sufficient time to finalize the monitoring phase and to complete financial obligation <br />25C-1 <br />
