Appointment of Member to the Orange County Vector Control <br />December 3, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />The current budget approved by the Board of Trustees supports District activities in providing <br />vector control services to County residents. Funding also supports outreach and education <br />programs on vectors that are presented by staff at school and civic group meetings. The District <br />also has printed material available to the public upon request that describes what citizens can do <br />to keep their homes and property free of rats, flies, and mosquitoes, Red Imported Fire Ant, and <br />pests that may be found around the yard and inside the home. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #1 (Establish a comprehensive community engagement <br />initiative to expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an <br />active role in discussing public policy and setting priorities). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Daisy Gomez, MMC <br />Clerk of the Council <br />Exhibit: 1.
