Salas, Diana
From:
lety.leonl951@gmaii.com
Sent:
Saturday, November 30, 2019 2:36 PM
To:
eComment
Cc:
Castro -Cardenas, Julie; Gomez, Daisy; City Council
Subject:
25D, 25E, 75B Agenda Items
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I'm writing to you on these three agenda items
25D - Clean & Safe Program Renewal
25E - Merchant Fund Revenue Renewal
75B - BID Renewal
As a Downtown Inc Board Member and a Downtown resident, I have seen the success of DTI & SABC.
Living in DTSA for 20 years, I have seen the many positives changes.
I also have seen the BID process improve, and how the two organizations are working together to better the Downtown
and joining forces to bring the community together.
When I moved to SA, I enjoyed walking thru the Downtown, I remember how there were only a couple of restaurants
and one coffee shop. Now there are too many to count, and all are great choices.
The Clean & Safe program (25D) is needed now more than ever, especially with all the construction going on, due to the
Street Car and future development. The businesses rely on the cleaning crew and depend on security & SAPD.
The Merchant Fund Revenue (25E) has brought so many events and programs that has made DTSA a destination, events
like Savor SA, Boca de Oro and the monthly Artwalk. All of these have brought people from different areas, not just OC.
BID Renewal (75B) this assessment is vital to both DTI & SABC, they depend on this in order to continue the
improvements and promotion of the businesses.
I am asking that you approve all three items on the consent calendar.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at 714-401-8312
Sincerely
Tish Leon
President, Downtown Neighborhood Association
Downtown Inc, Board Member
