17. Contractor must work with County of Orange and perform screening of all medically <br />indigent patients. <br />18. Contractor must comply with all applicable provisions and specifications of the Health <br />Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as other federal, state, and <br />local statues and regulations addressing patient privacy issues throughout the term of the <br />contract. <br />19. Contractor shall maintain proficiency and comply with all statutory, regulatory, and other <br />legal requirements, including amendments to such requirements, which impact billing, <br />reimbursement and/or collections for EMS and release of private medical information. <br />20. Contractor agrees to cooperate with the City regarding the handling of accounts. These <br />accounts may be included, but are not limited to accounts of the specific age <br />classifications, handicapped, and certain dependent situations. <br />21. Contractor must meet or exceed mutually agreed upon collection targets. <br />22. Contractor agrees to provide nationwide toll -free telephone number(s) for billing <br />inquiries. <br />23. Contractor agrees to meet with the City routinely and on request to discuss problems, <br />special needs, future changes, and updates in software, technology, statistical data <br />requests, or other relevant issues. <br />24. Contractor shall provide regular and continuous education and training for Contractor's <br />staff, updating them immediately on all changes in the industry or government <br />regulations that may have an impact on services being provided to the City. <br />25. Contractor shall provide to the City, listings of accounts, which the company feels are <br />uncollectable, through normal collection processes, for further action by the City. <br />26.
