Receive and File: Cannabis Public Benefit Fund for Youth Services Informational Report <br />December 17, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />On November 15, 2019, the Ad -Hoc Committee reported it had not been able to meet and had no <br />report to provide. The next Youth Commission meeting is December 20, 2019 and City staff is <br />recommending the commission take official action to provide recommendations for youth services <br />and/or agree with the recommendations below. <br />Book/Tech Mobile <br />• Provide mobile library services to meet the changing community needs by serving people <br />where they live, learn, work and play. Santa Ana Community Connections: The Zoo & You <br />• A new program at the zoo for Santa Ana youth of different age groups, including toddlers, <br />elementary school, middle school and high school students, that will enhance the direct <br />connections between the community and the zoo through programs introducing youths <br />to nature (Exhibit 1). A cohesive series of sustainable programs creates a pathway for <br />individuals in our diverse community towards lifelong learning and environmental <br />awareness. <br />• The zoo mobile will accommodate this program along with a volunteering component, <br />field trip, zoo summer camp, and parent participation for the toddlers. <br />• One-time funding needed for a "smart" board for the classroom, a dedicated outreach <br />vehicle, and a permanent sound system for amphitheater (included in year one total). <br />YEAR <br />FUNDING NEEDED <br />TIMELINE <br />1 <br />$402,000 <br />FY 2020-21 <br />2 <br />$572,656 <br />FY 2021-22 <br />3 <br />$586,887 <br />FY 2022-23 <br />19C-2 <br />
