6. 403.13 — 403.13.3 <br />7. 404.5 — 404.6.6 <br />8. 407 <br />SECTION 20: Section 14-24 is hereby amended as follows: <br />Sec. 14-24. - Fire service features (Chapter 5). <br />Chapter 5 Fire Service Features is adopted in its entirety with the following <br />amendments: <br />(a) SECTION 501.1 Scope is revised to read as follows: <br />501.1 Scope. Fire service features for buildings, structures and premises <br />shall comply with this chapter and, where required by the fire code official, <br />with OCFA Guideline B-09, "Fire Master Plan for Commercial & <br />Residential Development." Fire service features for buildings, structures <br />and premises located in State Responsibility Areas, and Local <br />Responsibility Areas designated as Very High Hazard Fire Severity Zone <br />shall also comply with OCFA Guideline B-09a, "Fire Safe Development in <br />State Responsibility Areas, and Local Responsibility Areas designated as <br />Very High Hazard Fire Severity Zone". <br />(b) Section 505.1 Address Identification is revised as follows: <br />505.1 Address identification. New and existing buildings shall have <br />approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building <br />identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the <br />street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with <br />their background. Where required by the fire code official, address <br />numbers shall be provided in additional approved locations to facilitate <br />emergency response. Address numbers shall be Arabic numbers or <br />alphabetical letters. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches (101.6 mm) <br />high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) for R-3 <br />occupancies, for all other occupancies the numbers shall be a minimum of <br />6 inches high with a minimum stroke width of 1 inch. Where access is by <br />means of a private road and the building cannot be viewed from the public <br />way, a monument, pole or other sign or means shall be used to identify <br />the structure. Address numbers shall be maintained. <br />(d) Section 510.1 Emergency responder radio coverage in new buildings is revised <br />to read as follows: <br />510.1 Emergency responder radio coverage in new buildings. All new <br />buildings shall have approved radio coverage for emergency responders <br />within the building based upon the existing coverage levels of the public <br />Ordinance No. NS-2981 <br />Page 16 of 33 <br />
