TO PROVIDE INTEGRATED <br />PEST MANAGEMENT AND PEST <br />CONTROL SERVICES AT CITY PARKS <br />AND FACILITIES, SANTA ANA ZOO AND <br />CIVIC CENTER FOR AN ANNUAL AMOUNT <br />OF $787,593.66 (TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED <br />$3,150,374.64) FOR THE PERIOD <br />FEBRUARY 1, 2020 TO JANUARY 31, 2024 <br />TO BE FUNDED BY THE GENERAL FUND <br />AND CIVIC CENTER FUND <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1B} <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ <br />As Recommended <br />❑ <br />As Amended <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 111 Reading <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ <br />Implementing Resolution <br />❑ <br />Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />/s/Kristine Ridge FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Pest Options, Inc. to provide integrated <br />pest management and pest control services at city parks and facilities, Santa Ana Zoo and Civic <br />Center for an annual amount not to exceed $787,593.66, which includes a 10 percent contingency, <br />for the period from February 1, 2020 to January 31, 2024 for a total agreement amount of <br />$3,150,374.64 to be funded by the General Fund and Civic Center Fund, subject to non -substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On October 7, 2019, the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) issued a <br />Request for Proposal (RFP) for integrated pest management and pest control services of the four - <br />landscape maintenance districts, Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park and the Civic Center. The City <br />notified 28 companies (one Santa Ana company), 21 companies downloaded the documents (zero <br />Santa Ana companies), and one company submitted a proposal (zero Santa Ana companies) for <br />service at all locations. <br />Even though there was only one proposal, an evaluation committee consisting of three <br />representatives from PRCSA Park Facilities Division reviewed and rated the proposal to confirm <br />the company is qualified to do the work. The proposal was evaluated according to the criteria listed <br />in the RFP, which includes firm/team experience, reference/relevant project experience, listing of <br />resources, manner for performing services/schedule and fee. The evaluation committee made the <br />determination that the company is capable of performing the requested services. <br />25E-1 <br />
