FIRST STREET PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PS&E <br />iIFPN0410.110 <br />MISSION ROADMUNTINGTON DRIVE (SOTo BRIDGE REPLACEMENT), Los Angeles, California <br />Soto Street bridge over Mission Raad and Huntingt^- <br />Drive was demolished and the roadways were <br />realigned as part of the Street improvements. Two <br />new signalized intersections were installed along <br />with Type II bike lanes throughout the project, ADR <br />compliant sidewalks and ramps, and a landscaped <br />median area alongthe newly built cul-de-sacs. <br />Tetra Tech provided engineering support services <br />during construction including RFis, review of shop <br />drawings, geotechnical support, responding to <br />request for design changes, and preparing as -built! <br />The project team helped the City by investigating <br />soil contamination levels and developing reports fY <br />handling and disposal of contaminated materials; <br />redeveloping' traffic control plans for increased wo <br />areas; and using Civil 3D software to understand'ai <br />eliminate design issues. <br />The design services included multiple phases of <br />worksite traffic control, and temporary traffic signs <br />permanent signing and striping with continental <br />crosswalks at all intersections and new bike lane <br />facility, permanent traffic signal with interconnect <br />video fiber, street lighting, and several utilities sucl <br />power, gas,stormdrain, and communications utilit <br />fSIXTH STREET PARK, ARTS, RIVER AND <br />j The City of Los Angeles held an international desig <br />j contest for the replacement of the Sixth Street <br />I Viaduct. Demolition of the existing bridge began <br />i in early 2016 and the new bridge, known as the <br />€ "Ribbon of Light," is expected to be constructed by <br />2020. The City of LA selected Tetra Tech, along witl <br />subconsultants Hargreaves Associates, and Michae <br />Maltzan Architecture, to develop a unique landsca <br />design and river improvements as part of the projE <br />The team is providing schematic and final design <br />environmental documentation and permitting, pui <br />' presentations, construction support services, and <br />post -construction services for nearly 12 acres of <br />recreational and open spaces beneath and around <br />the new bridge.
