Salas, Diana
From: apneighborhood@gmail.com
Sent: Tuesday, February 04, 2020 2:53 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Agenda item #23
Hi
I'm a board member for the Artesia Pilar Neighborhood Association. I lived directly on Raitt for 23 years. My
mother and siblings continue to live on Raitt Street, 909 N Raitt, to be specific. For decades we have been
patiently waiting for Raitt Street to be repaired and for decades we have heard from the city staffers who were
responsible for street repairs that Raitt St. had to be replaced with concrete.
So, you can imagine our surprise when we were notified of the agenda item #23.
We respectfully request a community forum/ meeting to discuss this further. We would like to know the impact
of Asphalt Vs Concrete, especially in a high used street. Perhaps with further information the majority of our
community may be inclined for the repairs being set before the council today.
Please table this item and request addition time to address concerns brought forth by residents directly
impacted.
In addition I don't understand why the public notice was limited to OC Register and La Opinion. I believe the
public notice is insufficient for the residents to provide comment. As many may not have a subscription to
either publication. Many of our community rely on social media and digital neighborhood notifications. I
respectfully request that any other neighborhood projects be publicly available via social media.
Respectfully,
Lucinda Solorzano
(714)721-8274
Sent from my iPhone
