FOR ON -CALL TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT <br />RENTAL FOR A THREE YEAR PERIOD IN <br />AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $300,000 <br />/s/Kristine Ridge <br />CITY MANAGER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 11' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />,K•�►nl►tr».ic•� <br />FILE NUMBER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute agreements with California Barricade Rentals, Inc. and <br />Statewide Traffic Safety and Signs, Inc. to provide on -call traffic control services and equipment <br />rental for a three-year period beginning March 3, 2020 and expiring on March 2, 2023, with a <br />provision for one two-year extension exercisable by the City Manager and City Attorney, for a total <br />aggregate amount not to exceed $300,000, subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On November 5, 2019, the Public Works Agency issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for <br />contractors to provide on -call traffic control services and equipment rental. The selected <br />contractor(s) will supplement City staff by providing temporary and permanent traffic control <br />services, and the necessary traffic control devices, personnel and related equipment. This work <br />generally consists of work -area traffic control setup, job site flagging, lane closures, road closures, <br />detour routes, and special event traffic control. <br />The RFP was advertised on the City's online bid management and publication system, with bids <br />due on November 26, 2019. Twenty contractors downloaded the project documents.
