Customers <br />Contractor is responsible for visually inspecting Containers for the Collection of <br />Recyclables and Organics as may be necessary to determine whether the content is <br />contaminated with non -Recyclable or non -Organic Solid Waste. Additionally, <br />Contractor shall perform contamination monitoring, route reviews, and inspections in <br />compliance with the CalRecycle requirements under SB 1383. <br />The Recycling Containers shall be considered contaminated if it contains more than ten <br />percent (10%) non -Recyclable material by weight. The Organics Containers shall be <br />considered contaminated if it contains more than ten percent (10%) non -Organic <br />material by weight. <br />Contractor shall warn Customers who have non -Recyclable Materials or Organic <br />Materials in their Recycling Container, Non -Organic Materials in their Organic <br />Materials Container, or Organic Materials or Recyclables in their Refuse Containers as <br />required by CalRecycle under SB 1383. <br />a) 1st and 2nd instance: Contractor shall take photograph(s) of Cart content, collect <br />the material from the Cart, leave a courtesy notice approved by the City that <br />explains why the material collected was non -conforming, and notify the City. <br />The written notice shall also explain the policy for non -conforming materials, <br />recommend corrective action, explain the consequences for repeated instances, <br />and any other information required by CalRecycle. <br />b) 3rd and subsequent instances: In addition to the requirements under the Pt and <br />2nd instance, Contractor shall have the option of requesting that the City assess a <br />Residential Curbside Service Unit Contamination Fee included in the approved <br />rate schedule. <br />4.2.8 Holiday Tree Collection Program <br />Except as provided herein, Contractor shall collect all holiday trees discarded by <br />Residential Curbside Service Units on the first three regularly scheduled weekly <br />Collection days after Christmas Day, at no additional charge. After this period, trees <br />will be Collected as Bulky Items under Section 4.2.10. Trees under six (6) feet in length <br />will be Collected and diverted without Customers needing to cut them. Contractor may <br />require that Customers with larger trees cut the trees to pieces no longer than six (6) <br />March 9, 2020 60A36� 25 City of Santa Ana - DRAFT <br />
