4.2.10 On -Call Bulky Item Pickup - Residential Curbside Service Unit Customers <br />Contractor shall provide Bulky Item pickup service to all Residential Curbside Service <br />Unit Customers. Each Residential Curbside Service Unit Customer shall be entitled to <br />four (4) Bulky Item pickups per Rate Year at no additional charge. Contractor shall <br />provide assistance of removal of Bulky Items on private property to senior citizens and <br />the disabled at no additional cost. Customers may put out up to four (4) Bulky Items at <br />each pickup, or four (4), thirty (30) gallon bags of Refuse, or twenty (20), thirty (30) <br />gallon bags of Yard Waste. Contractor shall Collect all Bulky Items as defined in <br />Section 1.11 including items referred to as Electronic Waste or "e-waste' as defined in <br />Section 1.28. The following provisions shall apply to this program: <br />• No single item that cannot be handled by two workers will be accepted. <br />• The following items will not be picked up: Hazardous Materials (including u-waste <br />but excepting e-waste), waste oil or anti -freeze. For the purposes of this section, <br />items referred to as "e-waste' are not considered hazardous. <br />Requests by Residential Curbside Service Unit Customers for such Collections shall be <br />made directly to the Contractor who shall provide satisfactory telephone message <br />receiving, transmitting and response procedures and shall be responsible for <br />maintaining a log of such large item collections. On -call Bulky Item Collection requests <br />shall be responded to by Contractor within a reasonable time but no more than five (5) <br />working days after such a request is received. Residential Curbside Service Unit <br />Customers that exceed the number of free pickups may receive Bulky Item Collection <br />under the same terms for a fee, in accordance with the approved rate schedule, and <br />shall be billed directly by Contractor. <br />Contractor will notify all Residential Curbside Service Unit Customers of this service <br />annually, beginning within thirty (30) days of effectiveness of this Agreement. New <br />Customers shall be notified of this service upon request of Collection services. <br />Contractor to develop a warning notice to inform Customers who set out Bulky Items <br />without contacting Contractor and that exceed the number of items per pickup, or the <br />number of pickups per year, that they may incur a charge in accordance with the <br />approved rate schedule. <br />March 9, 2020 60A38A �7 City of Santa Ana - DRAFT <br />
