The City is requesting proposals for the services described below. If these services represent a <br />significant change to current services, such changes are noted. A more comprehensive <br />description of these services is found in the draft franchise agreement, included as <br />Attachment 6 of this REP. Section references to the draft franchise agreement are included in <br />the following summary. <br />RESIDENTIAL COLLECTION SERVICE REQUIREMENTS (RESIDENTIAL <br />CURBSIDE SERVICE UNITS) <br />Refuse Cart Collection - Residential Curbside Service Units will continue to receive once per <br />week automated refuse collection. Refuse carts shall he offered in 96, 64, and 35-gallon sizes. <br />Each customer shall receive one refuse cart as part of the basic service provided by the <br />Contractor. Additional refuse carts may be requested for an additional fee. See Section 4.2.1. <br />Cart Overage - Customers that periodically generate more solid waste than will fit in their <br />containers may contact Contractor to collect items as a bulky item pickup under Section <br />4.2.10. See Section 4.2.2. <br />Recycling Cart Collection - Residential Curbside Service Units will continue to receive weekly <br />automated recycling collection on the same day as their refuse collection. Each customer shall <br />receive one recycling cart as part of the basic service provided by the Contractor. Recycling <br />carts shall be offered, in 96, 64, and 35-gallon sizes. Additional recycling carts may be <br />requested for an additional fee. See Section 4.2.3. <br />Organics Cart Collection - Residential Curbside Service Units will continue to receive weekly <br />automated organics cart collection on the same day as their refuse collection. Each customer <br />shall receive one organics cart as part of the basic service provided by the Contractor. <br />Organics carts shall be offered, in 96, 64, and 35-gallon sizes. Customers may request <br />additional organics carts for a monthly fee. See Section 4.2.4. <br />Residential Food Waste Collection - A residential food waste collection program is required <br />to be provided by the Contractor at the start of this Agreement or as otherwise mandated by <br />CalRecycle. See Section 4.2.4. <br />Holiday Tree Collection and Recycling - Contractor will continue to provide curbside <br />collection and proper recycling of holiday greenery to Residential Curbside Service Units for <br />the period beginning December 26 and continuing for at least three weeks, for the duration of <br />this agreement. See Section 4.2.8. <br />Walk -Out Service for Disabled Customers -The Contractor shall continue to provide disabled <br />cart customers with walk -out service at no additional charge. Contractor shall provide walk- <br />out service to other than disabled individuals at the request of the customer, for a monthly <br />fee.
