Salas, Diana
From: Kelli <ksjule09@gmaii.com>
Sent: Monday, March 16, 2020 11:57 PM
To: eComment
Subject: PT & FT City Employee Pay & Sick Leave: Emergency Resolution
To City Council,
For those with limited sick leave, and loved ones with chronic autoimmune disorders, continuing to
keep government agencies open during this time is concerning. Knowing that I could carry COVIDig
and appear asymptomatic and pass it along to my father due to proximity to various staff, but also
understanding that I need to maintain my income for basic essentials during this crisis has me
wondering what the city intends to do for its employees in regard to extended sick leave, and
compensation if and when complete shut downs of agencies occur. Funds have already been allocated
to agencies for personnel payroll for the fiscal year. It would appear we have the money already to pay
employees. It appears we would thus have the ability to pay them while encouraging social distancing
per CDC guidelines. I hope that these concerns are considered for all agencies that are able to be
closed down for a duration.
Kelli Sjule
