Salas, Diana
From: Maria Ceja <ceja.maria95@gmail.com>
Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2020 11:10 AM
To: eComment
Subject: March 17 City Council Meeting Comment
Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
Santa Ana residents deserve protections from evictions and displacement as we face these moments of
uncertainty and fear at a global scale because of COVID 19. As a Santanera, I have witnessed my community
facing these struggles prior to this. Now these struggles are being amplified because of the economic and social
effects brought on by the COVID 19. We need protections for our residents in which the needs of the
community are at the forefront. In this moments of uncertainty and fear, no one should also have to face
external pressures and threats like an eviction while trying to survive a pandernic. The safety and wellbeing of
our community should be the number one priority and it should be above economic and business interests. We
need an eviction moratorium that offers protections for our community. This is your moment in which you,
Santa Ana City Council members, can demonstrate solidarity and support for the communities that voted for
you to represent them.
In community,
Maria
