1.5. CITY shall maintain a pharmaceutical safe for the storage of all controlled drugs <br />and narcotics. <br />1.6. CITY shall maintain a facility for the use in surgery and/or treatment of the <br />collection with recovery and holding cages and related equipment as necessary at <br />the Zoo. <br />1.7. CITY shall assist staff with the capture and treatment of animals. <br />1.8. CITY shall be the ultimate decision maker on which tests are performed in house, <br />outsourced and the facility performing the testing and will pay for all lab testing. <br />City acknowledges veterinary care is heavily dependent on diagnostics and will <br />consult with the CONSULTANT. <br />1.9. CITY shall pay for all other expenses necessary for the care of the animal <br />collection when reasonably recommended by CONSULTANT and approved by <br />the Zoo Manager or their designated representative. <br />1.10. CITY shall track contraceptive needs of the animals and notify CONSULTANT <br />as necessary. <br />I.H. CITY shall provide licensed staff to perform the following: <br />1.11.1. Prepare for and assist the veterinarian in performing clinical procedures. <br />I L2. Perform medical procedures, including administering/monitoring <br />anesthesia, radiology, blood collection, and euthanasia under the <br />supervision of a veterinarian. <br />I.11.3. Conduct various types of laboratory tests including, but not limited to, fecal <br />analysis for parasites. <br />11.4, Arrange to forward samples for analysis to outside laboratories. <br />1.11.5, Accurately dispense and record medical prescriptions; properly administer <br />medications and vaccinations as directed by the attending veterinarian; <br />maintain current pharmacy inventory, treatment areas, laboratory, and <br />equipment inventory; and, assist with ordering drugs, medical supplies, <br />laboratory supplies, and inventory maintenance. <br />1.11.6. Create and maintain accurate medical record documentation of clinical <br />procedures, prescriptions, and diagnostic laboratory work. <br />1.11.7. Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of the treatment room, <br />surgical instruments, and equipment. <br />#24553v2 <br />
