o Hay un plan pare una moratoria de incrementos de renta y la creacibn de un fondo de
ayuda para los afectados de la pandemia sin importer su estatus migratorio?
TRANSLATION: Is there a plan for a moratorium on rent increases and the creation of a
relief fund for those affected by the pandemic regardless of their immigration status?
• Idalia Rios
o We have more than 6,000 McKenny vento kids not living in a dignify home. We need
more protections and rental assistance for extremely low income families and
undocumented workers.
• Nathaniel Greensides
o Oakland and LA have rent freezes. We need SantaAna City Council to vote yes on rent
freezes throughout pandemic and six months after SIP is lifted. Why is this a priority
when landlords are increasing rents during a pandemic? City Council focusing on the
"hideous" aesthetic of radio/WiFi towers shows poorly placed priorities.
o Measure X taxes are passed through to consumers by businesses; the revenues make
our city better. Iglecias: tell us the truth! Who is truly prompting this?
o City Council can enact a rent increase moratorium to help residents, please discuss that
instead of Measure X
• Victor Garcia
o How is Santa ANA Police helping out during this pandemic throughout the city?
o Will the taxes in the city be lowered for a while during and after this Pandemic?
o Can there be increased penalties for people who graffiti , and more patrol for
offenders who "tag"? Such as when there was stricter enforcement a couple
years back?
o Can we get verification is a rent freeze was passed?
• Cynthia Guerra
o Will the City create an emergency fund to help those impacted by the crisis? The
current rental assistance fund is not enough. It was not created to withstand the
effects of a pandemic. An emergency relief fund is especially urgent for our
undocumented residents who do not have access to the financial assistance
available like federal government assistance.
o There are folks dealing with medical emergencies and income loss. Can a
council member explain what justifies increasing rents during this emergency?
We need a rent increase moratorium
• Sarai Arpero
o La comunidad Io que necesita mfnimo urge un congelamiento a los incrementos
de las yentas y fondo de emergencia para las familias que por COVID19
perdieron sus trabajos "Urge"
TRANSLATION: The community, what it needs at least, urges a freeze on the increases
in rents and an emergency fund for the families that because of COVID19 lost their jobs
"Urge"
e The Avila Family
