Holiday Pay/Credit <br />Each City holiday shall be paid/credited at the rate of six (6) hours per holiday. <br />C. Floatin Holiday <br />oliday <br />The floating holiday shall be credited to each employee's holiday bank in January <br />of each year. <br />D. Each employee shall receive no less than a total of seventy-two (72) hours of paid <br />holidays per calendar year. <br />7.2 Requirements <br />A. Employees, including those separating from service, must be in a paid status on <br />their workday both preceding the holiday and after the holiday in order to receive <br />pay or credit for the holidays provided in Section 7.1 above. <br />B. A newly appointed employee must complete six (6) months of continuous service <br />in order to earn the Floating Holiday listed in Section 7.1 above. Such employees <br />can then use the Floating Holiday as early as the pay period following the <br />completion of six (6) months in a paid status. <br />7.3 Use of Holiday Time <br />Holiday time may be taken in increments of one-half (0.5) hour. <br />7.4 Maximum Accumulation of Holiday <br />Holiday benefits may not be carried over from one (1) calendar year to the next. If an <br />employee has any holiday leave remaining at the end of the calendar year it will be forfeited <br />at the end of that calendar year. <br />7.5 Winter Holiday Closure <br />A. mandatory Closure <br />City Hall and all other City departments (with the exception of the Police <br />Department, Santa Ana Zoo, and select employees in Fleet Services Division of the <br />Public Works Department) shall be closed for a mandatory winter holiday closure <br />each year during the term of this MOU. <br />Subject to consultation with the Union, the City Manager may exclude other <br />2019-2022 MDU City of Santa Ana & SEIU Part -Time Civil Service Employees Unit Page 29 U� <br />�!
